Mohamed Zakaria Soltan is an Associate Professor of Advertising at the Faculty of Applied Arts, October 6 University, Egypt, with an academic and professional career integrating visual communication, advertising design, graphic and poster design, digital art, design education, research, and emerging technologies. His research interests have expanded into AI-enhanced design, augmented reality, interactive media, CGI and AI-generated advertising, and cross-cultural visual communication.

A major strength of his profile is his extensive international judging experience. He has served in more than 50 published international jury, grand jury, and expert-panel appointments across 15 countries, covering Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His recent appointments include the A’ Design Award & Competition in Italy, the Design Masterprize and C2A Creative Communication Award in the USA, the Haapsalu Graphic Design Festival in Estonia, Poster Stellars in the USA, the Gaudeamus Projecta Awards in Spain, the INTERDESIGN Biennial in Romania, and the Posterist in Turkey, as well as international competitions in Russia and Poland. This extensive experience has enabled him to develop a rigorous evaluation approach based on originality, conceptual strength, visual communication, cultural and social relevance, innovation, and professional execution.

Beyond judging, Dr. Soltan maintains an active international creative practice, including 20 physical solo exhibitions (In: Egypt, Romania, Serbia, Argentina, Russia, Poland & Korea), 7 online solo exhibitions, extensive participation in international group exhibitions (more than 190 group exhibitions over the world), and more than 40 exhibitions and artistic activities in Egypt. His artworks are also represented in institutional and private collections internationally and have been published in art and design magazines in the USA, UK, and Poland.

His professional recognition includes the Excellent Design Award, 11th Asia Graphic Design Triennale 2021, Seoul, South Korea, (2021); First Prize – Professional Group, Poster Category, “Meet Zhengzhou,” China (2020); the R+ Gallery Award, Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin, Poland (2019); and several other international and national awards and recognitions in China, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Egypt.

This combination of extensive international jury experience, academic expertise, award-winning professional practice, research, cross-cultural engagement, and long-standing participation in the global design community makes Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Soltan a strong candidate for international jury panels. He can contribute an independent, informed, fair, and internationally sensitive perspective to the evaluation process and support competitions in identifying and recognizing work that demonstrates genuine creativity, meaningful communication, innovation, and design excellence.
